CONSTITUTION
1
OBJECTS
1.1
To foster, develop and control the pursuit of amateur cricket encouraging
an atmosphere of goodwill and friendship, with particular emphasis on young
people.
1.2
To encourage active participation by all members of the community,
irrespective of age, disability, gender, ethnic origin, creed, colour, social
status, sexual orientation or race.
1.3
To provide coaching by qualified coaches at both senior and junior
levels.
1.4
To maintain and foster links with local schools.
1.5
To provide access and facilities for disabled persons to allow active
participation or spectating as appropriate.
1.6
To co-operate with and assist all relevant National & Local bodies
e.g. Sport England, E.C.B., N.C.A., Lords Taverners, G.C.B.

MEMBERSHIP
2.1
Available to all persons
2.2
There shall be four classes of membership available:
2.2.1
Full Member (all those aged 16 and over on October 1st of the current
constitutional year and who paid their annual subscription for the previous
season)
2.2.2
Youth Member (all those below the age of 16 on October 1st of the current constitutional year)
2.2.3
Social
Member
2.2.4
Honorary/ Life Member
2.3
All members will be subject
to the regulations of this constitution and, by joining the club, will be
deemed to accept these regulations and the codes of conduct.
2.4
Other than Honorary/ Life
Members, all Members to pay both an annual subscription and match fee, amounts
to be established at the AGM. Youth Members and those not in employment to pay
reduced sums.
2.5
Club bar: there may be admitted to the Club facilities persons other than
Members and their guests and intoxicating liquor may be sold to such persons by
and on behalf of the Club, for consumption on the premises and complying with
the licensing hours.

MANAGEMENT
3.1
The general management and control of the Club will be placed under the
control of a Management Committee comprising Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer,
Secretary, Fixture Secretary, Captains, Child Welfare Officer, Social Secretary
and one Full Member as elected at the Annual General Meeting.
3.2
The Chairman or Secretary shall convene all meetings of the Committee.
3.3
The Administration and Financial Year shall date from 1st October each
year. Each member of the Committee
shall hold office for the period following the close of the AGM to the close of
the next AGM and be eligible for re-election.

MEETINGS
4.1
The Annual General Meeting shall be held during the month of November in
each year and on a date to be fixed by the Committee.
4.2
The business of the AGM shall include a Statement of Accounts and Balance
Sheet, election of the Officers and the Committee members and any such business
as may be submitted by the Committee, or any member.
4.2.1
Notice of a motion must be given to the Secretary of any motion proposed,
at least fourteen (14) days before the date of the meeting.
4.2.2
Nominations for Officers: those prepared to stand and have agree their
nominations, shall have their names stated on the Agenda which shall be sent to
Members prior to the AGM. If there
is more than one candidate for an Officer’s position, there shall be a vote by
secret ballot.
4.3
A
Special General Meeting shall be called by the Chairman or Secretary:
a.
Upon direction of the Committee and in accordance with such direction.
b.
On a requisition signed by one quarter of the Full Members.
Such
meetings shall be held within not less than 14 days or more than 21 days from
the receipt of requisition by the Secretary
4.4
The quorum required for business to proceed shall be as follows:
a.
AGM/SGM: 8 Members including at least two persons from the Chairman or
Vice Chairman and Secretary or Treasurer.
b.
Committee Meeting: 4 Members of Committee including the Chairman or Vice
Chairman or Secretary.
4.5
Voting on all matters at all General Meetings shall be restricted to Full
Members and at Committee Meetings restricted to the members elected at the AGM.

CHAIRMAN
5.1
The Chairman or, in his or her absence, the Vice Chairman shall preside
at all meetings of the Cricket Club. Should
they not be present, the members present shall choose one of their number to
chair the meeting.
5.2
The Chairman of the meeting shall have a casting or additional vote in
the event of an equality of votes on matters requiring a vote.
6
FINANCE
6.1
The Financial Year shall be from 1st
October to 30th September
6.2
All items of expenditure in excess of £250.00 must be authorised by the
Committee.
6.3
All cheques are to be signed by any two from the Chairman, Treasurer and
Secretary.
6.4
The Club shall operate on a non-profit basis and all surplus funds will
be re-invested in the upkeep and improvement of the Club and it’s facilities.
7
DISCIPLINE
7.1 The
Committee shall have the power to expel any member who shall offend against the
rules of the Club or whose conduct shall, in the opinion of the Committee,
render him or her unfit for membership.
7.2
Before a member is expelled the Secretary shall give that person a
minimum of 7 days written notice to attend a meeting of the Committee and shall
inform him or her of the complaints made against him or her.
7.3
No member shall be expelled without first having an opportunity of
appearing before the Committee and answering the complaints made against him or
her nor unless at least two-thirds of the Committee present vote in favour of
the expulsion by secret ballot.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT
No
amendment to this Constitution shall be made except by a resolution carried by a
majority of at least two-thirds of the Full Members present at a
General meeting.
9
DISSOLUTION
9.1
If at any General Meeting of the Club, a resolution be passed calling for
the dissolution of the Club, the Secretary shall immediately convene a SGM of
the Club to be held not less than one month thereafter to discuss and vote on
the resolution.
9.2
If at that Meeting the resolution is carried by at least a two thirds
majority of the Full Members present at the meeting, the Management Committee
shall thereupon, or at such date as shall have been specified in the resolution,
proceed to realise the assets of the Club and discharge all debts and
liabilities of the Club.
9.3
After discharging all debts and liabilities of the Club, the remaining
assets shall not be paid or distributed amongst the Full Members of the Club,
but shall be given or transferred to another voluntary cricket organisation in
the area having objects similar to the Club.
10.
DECLARATION
Apperley Cricket Club, School Lane, Apperley, Glos
GL19 4ED, hereby adopts and accepts this Constitution as a current operating
guide regulating the actions of members.
